KARACHI, July 17: The city government constituted on Tuesday a 15-member committee to carry out a fresh exercise to sort out and recommend just prices of milk at the production, wholesale and retail stages.

The decision was taken in compliance with the July 2 directive of the Sindh High Court to fix the milk price in accordance with the provisions of the Sindh Essential Commodities Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 2006. The court, however, maintained that there would be no change in the retail price of Rs32 per litre in the meantime.

The committee comprises government officials, representatives of the dairy farmers and members of civil society with the EDO of Enterprise and Investment Promotion as its chairman.
