KARACHI, July 5: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where four ships to load, unload containers, edible oil and diesel oil were allotted berths at QICT, MPT and Fotco oil terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and diesel oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy remained at 60 per cent at the port where seven ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, edible oil, diesel oil, canola seeds and iron ore, respectively, during the report period.

The port handled a cargo volume of 89,560 tons comprising 76,487 tons imports and 13,073 tons exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,607 Teus during the period under review.

Three ships sailed out to the sea during the last 24 hours.
