KARACHI, June 30: Brisk berthing activity was witnessed at the port where four ships to load and unload containers, coal and furnace oil were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

In the meantime, three more ships carrying containers, chemicals and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. A total of six ships, Emirates Adam, CSAV Ningbo, Negotiator, Grigoroussa-I, Delta Ranger and Guang Meng Feng, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, furnace oil, coal and coke.

Cargo handling activity was brisk as a total tonnage of 89,686 tons comprising 75,406 tons of import and 14,280 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Negotiator, left the port.
