SAHIWAL, June 20: The Grain Market police arrested a member of gang involved in marketing counterfeit currency and recovered currency notes of Rs500 and Rs100 denomination.
Police said accused Ashraf gave a counterfeit currency note of Rs500 to trader Rafiq.
Rafiq, with the help of his staff, caught Ashraf. They searched his pockets and recovered 15 counterfeit currency notes of Rs500 and 18 of Rs100 denomination. Later, they handed him over to police.
Ashraf informed police of the activities of his gang which was marketing counterfeit currency in Sahiwal these days.
Police are conducting the raids to arrest his accomplices.
RAPE: Three youth raped a teenager in Chak 64/4-R on Tuesday.
‘N’, 18, was passing through the village street when Abdul Shakoor took her to a room at gunpoint. Ashfaq and Qaiser who were already present there, drugged the girl and raped her.
Noorshah police have registered a case with no arrest.
KIDNAP: A man kidnapped his wife and two minor children from the house of her father in Chak 33/12-L.
Shafiq had forced out his wife Abida along with their minor children Sonia and Abdul Rehman about three years ago. She was shifted to her father’s house.
Abida had moved a court for the sustenance allowance. Shafiq wanted her to withdraw the case but she refused to do so.
Shafiq, with the help of his four accomplices, kidnapped Abida and children.
Police have registered a case.
