KARACHI, June 20: Bandits had a field day on Wednesday as they deprived 116 people of their cars, motorbikes or cellular phones in various localities. Police sources said 36 vehicles — 12 cars and 24 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen at different places. Two cars were taken away at gunpoint by bandits and 10 others stolen. Seven motorbikes were hijacked and 17 others stolen.

Similarly, 80 people were deprived of their mobile phones. Twenty-nine people complained that they were intercepted by bandits in various locations and deprived of cash, cellphones and belongings at gunpoint.

Fifty-one other people reported to the police that their cellular phones were stolen.
