QUETTA, March 4: An Australian company has completed the feasibility of another copper project in Chaghai district of Balochistan, which would start production within the next three years.
This was informed by a delegation of the company, headed by David More, to the provincial governor Justice (Retd) Amirul Mulk Mengal here on Monday. The delegation further said that the Recodak copper reserves were bigger than the Saindak project and were also superior than Saindak.
“The project would start production within the next three years and initially it would produce 40,000 tons of copper annually,” David More informed the governor adding that the implementation of this huge project would create job opportunities for the people of the area.
“We are also expecting great increase in the economic activities in the area when the project would come in production stage,” he said and added that the company would make all possible efforts to provide better facilities to the people of Recodak area of Chaghai.
Justice Mengal while welcoming the delegation assured that his government would extend all possible help and cooperation including complete security to the foreign companies working on mining projects in Balochistan.
He said that the government was making all possible efforts for exploiting the mineral resources in the province and was giving full attention to this sector by taking concrete steps.
He said that work would be started at Saindak projects very soon and in this connection efforts were under way.
