ISLAMABAD, June 4: The government has promoted air commodores Asim Suleman and Najmul Asar to the ranks of air vice marshal, said a press release issued by the directorate of media affairs of PAF on Monday.
Air Vice Marshal Asim Suleman was commissioned in Pakistan Air Force on October 20, 1978, in the flying branch. He has commanded a fighters’ squadron and an operational air base.
He has singular honour of having served on chief of air staff’s ADC, APSO and PSO.
He has also served as air attache in Pakistan high commission at New Delhi.
In staff appointments, he has served in operations directorate at air headquarters.
He is a graduate of Combat Commanders’ School, Air War College Bangladesh and National Defence University Islamabad. He holds master’s degree in defence and strategic studies.
He is the recipient of Sitara-i-Basalat and Imtiazi Sanad.
Air Vice Marshal Syed Najmul Asar was commissioned in Pakistan Air Force on October 20, 1978, in flying branch.
He has commanded a fighters’ squadron, a fighters’ wing and an operational air base.
He has also served as assistant chief of air staff at the air headquarters, and senior air staff officer at a regional air command.
He is a graduate of the Flying Instructors School, Combat Commanders’ School, PAF Air War College and National Defence University Islamabad. He has served on deputation to United Nations Mission in Bosnia.
He holds Master’s Degree in defence and strategic studies.
He is also the recipient of Sitara-i-Basalat and Sitara-i- Esar.—APP
