KARACHI, March 2: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has regretted the inconvenience caused to candidates for SSC part-I&II examinations because of late issuance of admit cards, saying that the situation had arisen due to an appreciable increase in the number of candidates for whom the Board had to prepare admit cards with its existing staff.

“Then came the Eidul Azha holidays during which a number of employees belonging to upcountry were on leave,” said BSEK chairman Mohammad Aziz Ansari in a statement on Saturday.

Inspite of all these hurdles, he said, the process of issuing admit cards remained smooth till February 28, when some miscreants created a scene which led to law and order situation.

He said to allay any sense of apprehension among the students, the Board requested them to remain calm, concentrate on preparations for exams and be in touch with their institutions. “They are reassured that no student, whose form has been submitted to the Board, will be deprived of appearing in the exams,” he added.

Even if there were some leftovers for want of admit cards, they would be given a chance to appear in the examinations after Moharram 10th under the provision of BSEK rules, he maintained.

Entitlement to appear in such especially conducted examinations would, however, be on the production of documentary evidence for submission of forms and non-receipt of admit card, the Board chairman maintained.—PPI
