KARACHI, May 28: The Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) has condemned the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for its campaign against chief of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Imran Khan, saying that “by indulging in the character assassination of Imran Khan, the MQM has proved that it is not a political, but a fascist party.”
In a statement issued here on Monday, JWP leaders Shehzada Zafar Jan and Haji Mirza Khan also claimed that massive wall-chalking in Karachi and other areas of Sindh had been carried out by MQM workers under the supervision of police and rangers.
They observed that by resorting to such indecent practices in its politics, the MQM had fully exposed its fascistic approach, and warned that this could foment ethnic tension. They said ethnic strife would not serve the interest of the MQM itself, rather it would create and widen the gap among different sections of society.
“Every one has the right to practise politics in their own way but no civilised country permits use of abusive language in the name of politics,” they maintained, and remarked that the MQM had introduced a new culture and would be held responsible for the consequences.
