KHAIRPUR, May 22: The Ranipur police have lodged FIRs against 15 nominated and nine unidentified people under section 506/2, 353, 341, 148 PPC on Tuesday night for blocking the National Highway during a protest against the arrest of a PPP worker, Dost Mohammad Sehto.

While lodging the FIR at the Ranipur PS, the officials maintained that a group of 24 people blocked the National Highway near Hingorja on Monday evening and when the patrolling party reached at the site, the protestors hurled threats on the police.

On the other hand, activists of Sindhi Adabi Sangat, People’s Party Parlimentarians and Shehri Ittehad continued their protest in front of the Hingorja Press Club for the second consecutive day on Tuesday and shouted slogans against the police action.

The protesting workers alleged that the PPP worker was implicated in a fake case. They also raised slogans against police highhandedness.
