QUETTA, May 22: The chief of the Balochistan wing of PPP Parliamentarians, Nawabzada Lashkari Khan, has alleged that Rs 800 million allocated for Mirani Dam has been deposited in the bank account of a provincial minister. He has also accused the provincial government of being involved in massive corruption.

Addressing a press conference at the Sarawan House at the end of the party’s provincial executive committee meeting on Tuesday, Mr Lashkari said that notice should be taken on a statement by the Inspector General Frontier Corps that 2600 people had been arrested by the Frontier Corps in Balochistan.

Referring to the recent incidents in Karachi, he said that President Pervez Musharraf was using state machinery to suppress the political movement of his rivals. He said the MQM and government were responsible for the tragic incidents.
