HYDERABAD, May 19: The opening ceremony of a two-week refresher course and training camp for identification and development of talent of athletics in the country was held at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro on Saturday.

The Centre for Health and Physical Education of the university is organising the camp in collaboration with the Olympic Confederation of Germany and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Officials from various universities would participate in the refresher course whereas the training camp will be attended by 100 athletes from various universities and departments of the country.

Germany’s Dr Winfried Spanaus who is a world-record holder in long-distance running and a specialist of track and field will impart training to the youngsters: “I want to see these athletes shine at the international level.”
