LAHORE, May 8: Twenty-six matches were decided in the pre-qualifying round of the National Junior Squash Championship in different age categories at Punjab Squash Complex on Tuesday.

Eleven matches were held in the first round of U-11 age category and four in the second round.

In U-15 three ties were decided in the first round and as many in the second one.

The competitions were also held in U-17, U-19 and U-13 events.

Only Zohaib Majeed, stretched to three games to beat Ilyas Arshad 9-2, 5-9, 9-2 in an U-11 event match.

Rest of the matches were decided in straight games.

U-11 (1st round): Zohaib Majeed bt Uzair Rasheed 9-0, 9-0; Ilyas Arshad bt Sameer Rasheed 9-5, 9-5; Abdullah Bashir bt Wajid Akbar 9-2, 9-2; Salman bt Sharoome 9-2, 9-3; Sheikh Dilwar bt Zeeshan Naeem 9-2, 9-3; Imam Sheer Khan bt Hamza Mohsin 9-0, 10-8; Noman Sadiq bt Jibran 9-1, 9-1.

Second round: Zohaib Majeed bt Ilyas Arshad 9-2, 5-9, 9-2; Abdullah Bashir bt Dawood Riaz 9-0,9-1; Salman bt Sheikh Dilawar 9-5, 9-5; Imam Sheer Khan bt Noman Sadiq 9-5, 9-6.

U-13: Faraz Asad bt Inam Ullah 9-5, 9-7.

U-15: (1st round): Usman Ahmed bt Umair Aslam 9-1, 9-1; Bilal Yousuf bt Raheel Asghar 9-1, 9-2; Duraiz bt Ali Khalid 9-2, 9-7.

Second round:Khalid Khan bt Rizwan Ahmed 9-6, 9-1; Danish Rasheed bt Bilal Yousuf 9-1, 9-2; Babar Ghafoor bt Duraz 9-2, 9-2.

U-17 (1st round): Bashir Khan bt Mubashir) 9-3, 9-0; Rameez Khan bt Mamoon Khan 9-0, 9-1; Bilal Khan bt Saad 9-0, 9-0; Hassan Ali bt Tousif Hanif 9-3, 9-0.

Second round: Adeel Asghar bt M Hassan Ali 9-3, 9-5; Aurangzeb Khan bt Sajjad Ali 9-1, 9-4; Rameez Khan bt Mamoon Khan 9-0, 9-5.

U-19: Umair Matin bt Azmat Ullah 9-2, 9-2.
