ISLAMABAD, May 8: A decomposed body, probably of a man of African origin, was found near Banigala Monday night, police said.

The incident came to light when a retired secretary informed Rescue-15 that a body was lying in green area some meters from the road at Mulpur near Banigala.

The Secretariat police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for pending identification and legal process.

The body seemed to be two or three days old and it had started to stink. Marks on his back and swollen hands and feet, indicated that he was tortured, police said, adding that the body also had a deep wound close to the lips.

The police searched the area to find any clue which could lead them to the killer(s), however, nothing was found from the spot. Likewise, nothing was found from the deceased that could help the police in his identification.
