KUALA LUMPUR, May 8: Malaysia's trade surplus declined in March, falling by 29.8 per cent to 6.73 billion ringgit ($1.97 billion) compared to 9.58 billion ringgit a year earlier, official data showed Tuesday.
The trade surplus also declined on a month-by-month basis, dropping by 2.99pct in March compared with the revised 6.93 billion ringgit seen in February, according to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
Compared to a year ago, exports in March were 4.3 per cent lower at 49.08 billion ringgit.
