PESHAWAR, May 7: The campaign for recovery of dues launched recently by the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) continued on Monday, as power supply to five more government departments or projects was severed.

The departments or projects to which power supply was discontinued were: the water supply scheme for the Shah Mansoor area; the Zaida Telephone Exchange; the Marghuz water supply scheme; office of the assistant director of Shah Mansoor Township; and, the post office.

The Pesco had issued notices to government departments for early payment of arrears before launching the disconnection campaign.

Pesco Chief Executive Brig Sakhi Marjan has already directed all field offices to sever connections of government departments if they fail to deposit their arrears on time.

Meanwhile, the Pesco has established a Crisis Management Cell here at the Wapda House, which will be responsible for the implementation of the load management schedule.

It will also ensure implementation of the measures needed for smooth supply of electricity throughout the province, according to a press release issued here on Monday.

People may contact the Pesco staff on cell phone number 0301-8149506 for their problems and to gather information regarding the load management schedule for their areas.

In case of emergency, people should contact the staff at telephone numbers 091-9212010, 091-9212037, said the handout. They may also contact the local complaint cells.—APP
