SME Bank disburses Rs163m

KARACHI, Feb 27: The SME Bank has so far disbursed Rs163 million to 400 small and medium sized enterprises, a press release of the bank faxed from Islamabad announced.

The biggest share of 44 per cent has been disbursed in Sindh followed by 37 per cent in Punjab, 12 per cent in NWFP, 4 per cent in Balochistan and 3 per cent in the Northern Areas.

The SME Bank press release claimed that the disbursement has resulted in creation of 1,000 additional jobs. The beneficiaries of this disbursement were enterprises from 17 business sectors ranging from general stores to auto part manufacture.
