KARACHI, Feb 27: Six ships including two tankers carrying palm oil and chemicals are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.
Ship movements at the wharves were fairly active as over a dozen ships were berthed and sailed out during the last 24 hours.
The ships, which were berthed included Song He, Global Power, Lanka Mahapola, Trade Fast, Bombay Star, Wan Hai-231 and Julius Oldendroff, which unload and load containers.
Sailings were also active as seven ships departed under the lead of Jamila, MSC Carmmen, Bombay Star, PONL Everest, Wan Hai-231, Celestina and Al-Maqwa, while Lanka Mahapola, Al-Mariyah, Trade Fast and Bolan are expected to sail out on Thursday.
Cargo handling activity was relatively slow owing to lesser handling of the liquid cargo, falling to 47,047 tons comprising 10,707 tons of export cargo including 1,922 tons of rice and 36,310 tons of import tonnage.
The following ships are due on Thursday: Theresa-11, with 6,000 tons of palm oil, Ievoli Shine, with 1,000 tons of chemicals, Safe Marine Wami and Bunga Biara, with containers, Bountrike Naree, with steel an Al-Jabar-11, with general cargo.
