KARACHI: Two killed in encounter

KARACHI, April 20: Two alleged robbers were shot dead and a policeman was wounded in an encounter in North Karachi here on Friday.

According to Bilal Colony police, three persons were roaming near Humaira Garden in North Karachi when two policemen noticed them and asked them to stop for a body search. Instead, the three started running and opened fire at the two policemen wounding one of the cops Rizwan.

Despite being wounded, Rizwan and his fellow policeman ran after the robbers.

Sensing danger, the suspects again opened fire and another bullet hit Rizwan’s rib. This shootout near a PSO petrol pump in Sector 5-A/4 resulted in the death of two alleged suspects. However, the third one managed to flee.

Bodies of the two robbers were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where one of them was identified as Ali Asghar, 35, hailing from Hub in Balochistan.
