Sindh names shooting squad

KARACHI, April 6: Sindh has announced a squad of 30 men and women shooters to take part in the 30th National Games. The Sindh Rifle Association announced on Friday that the shooting competitions will be held at the Naval International Shooting Range.

Double Olympian Khurram Inam will be spearheading the Sindh challenge in shotgun events like skeet, trap and double trap.

Sindh had finished third behind Navy and Army in previous games which were held in Quetta. Their shooters produced an outstanding performance in shotgun event to take all the three gold medals in skeet competition, apart from one silver and two bronze.

Squad:

Rifle: Men: Abdullah Iraqi, Hashim Paul, Asim Siddiqui, Abdur Rehman, Abdul Rauf, Omair Ahmed (point 22 open sight); Abdullah Iraqi, Shahzad Abdullah, Abdur Rehman (point 22 English match).

Women: Areeba Khan, Nadia Khan, Liba, Fiza, Sidra.

Pistol: Dr Hussaini, Mohammad Barakzai, Tipu Sultan, Hasan Raza, Asif Majeed, Asim Siddiqui, Bilal Ahmed, Mohammad Saleem, Shuja Sherwani, Saleem Akhtar, Mohammad Ali.

Skeet: Khurram Inam, Ahmed Sultan, Amin Karamat, Hamza Amin.

Trap: Capt Mahmood Sultan, Usman Sadiq, Dr Naveed Shah, Khurram Inam.

Double trap: Dr Naveed Shah, Khurram Inam, Asim Siddiqui, Babar Baig.—APP
