Four gunned down over enmity

MANDI BAHAUDDIN, March 20: Unknown assailants killed four people near Kakowaal bridge, some 11km from here, on Tuesday morning.

Reports said Sheikh Faiz Ahmed, a contractor of Kuthiala Sheikhan, was on his way to Saray Alamgir by his car along with his driver, body guard and a friend.

As the car reached the bridge, the assailants also riding a car opened fire on the vehicle, killing Saifullah, Jehangir and Faiz on the spot. Zulfiqar was shifted to DHQ hospital in a critical condition where he died.

Sources blame some old enmity between the family of deceased Faiz and Gondals of Kuthiala Sheikhan for the incident. No FIR has been registered so far.

HUNGER STRIKE: A token hunger strike camp was held here under the District Bar Association head Muzaffar Iqbal

Speaking on the occasion, DBA president and its fromer head Munawar Iqbal Gondal said the judges’ resignations were alarming for the rulers. PML-N district president Dewaan Mushtaq Ahmed also visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the lawyers.
