Infant kidnapped from hospital

SAHIWAL, March 20: A three-month-old infant was kidnapped from the children’s ward of the Sahiwal District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday. The infant had been admitted to the hospital on March 17.

Azra, the mother of the baby, and Ishrat, aunt, were sitting by the bed when a woman in nurse uniform took the baby, saying the in charge doctor had asked her to bring the baby for weighing.

They said that after a while when the nurse did not come back, they went to the doctor. The doctor, however, said that she had not asked any nurse to weigh the baby. Relatives of the baby protested against the administration of the hospital and demanded an immediate arrest of the staff for their negligence. Police registered a case.

Comrade Inayat Hussain of the PPP-SB said that Fatima Bhutto, the granddaughter of the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, had completed her education and would contest the next election from Larkana to accomplish the mission of her grandfather.

He demanded the restoration of the chief justice of the Supreme Court and punishment for the murderers of Murtaza Bhutto, the party founder.
