ATTOCK, Feb 21: Local district Nazim Major Tahir Sadiq (retired) has sanctioned an amount of Rs148.18 million for the provision of potable water, toilets and boundary walls in 232 girls’ primary schools under the President Rehabilitation Programme.

It was learnt on Thursday of the total amount, a sum of Rs6.8 million would be spent on provision of water in 136 schools including 33 in Attock tehsil, 23 in Hassanabad, 16 in Pindigheb, 20 in Jand and 44 in Fatehjang.

An amount of Rs2.76 million has been allocated for the provision of toilets in 69 schools including nine in Attock, eight in Hassanabad, five in Pindigheb, 14 in Jand and 33 in Fatehjang.

The boundary walls in 27 girls’ schools including four in Attock, two in Hassanabad, seven in Pindigheb, eight in Jand and six in Fatehjang would be constructed with an expenditure of Rs5.258 million.
