Housewife gang-raped before murder

SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 21: Initial post-mortem report revealed the woman, who was slaughtered along with her two minor sons on Wednesday by unidentified assailants, was also gang-raped.

It may be mentioned that the entire family of Gulfraz, an employee of a local food industry, was butchered by some unidentified assailants. Police have so far failed to find any clue to the killers.

It was however feared that outlaws had murdered the housewife and her sons to conceal their crime.

GIRL DIES: A girl who had shot and injured herself two weeks ago died at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, on Thursday.

Rifat Bibi (19) of Narang Mandi had attempted suicide after quarrelling with her sister over a minor issue. Her body was shifted to the city mortuary for autopsy.

RELEASED: On the directions of the supreme court chief justice, 20 prisoners involved in minor crimes were released from the district jail here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the jail reforms committee of the district bar association also visited the district jail.

Led by chairman Chaudhry Arshad Virk, other members of the committee also took a round of the jail and gave their suggestions for improving facilities for women and juvenile prisoners.

FOUND DEAD: A woman and her two children were found dead in their house in Diyal Shah, some 32km from here, on Thursday.

Amanat and his family were going through financial stringency living in a rented house. The head of the family reportedly took to drug addiction.

On Thursday morning, Shagufta, 30, and her two minor children were found burnt in a room. However, Amanat was at large.

The residents in the locality failed to trace the motive behind the incident.

The Ferozwala police are investigating.
