KARACHI: Two Edhi Centres robbed

KARACHI, Feb 21: Bandits struck at two Edhi Centres in the city on Thursday and got way with cash.

Three men came to the Edhi Centre situated in front of Star Gate, and asked for an ambulance for a heart patient. As the centre in charge was making arrangements for an ambulance, the unidentified men held him as hostage at gunpoint and demanded cash.

The bandits escaped on a motorcycle after looting Rs35,000 from the Centre.

Three men came in a yellow to the Edhi Centre in Clifton.

Two occupants of the cab came to the cash donation counter of the Centre, where girl volunteers work and told them that they wanted to make a donation.

A young man took out a pistol, held the girl volunteers as hostage at gunpoint and demanded cash. The two men collected Rs60,000 and drove away in the yellow cab.
