A O CC Blues in super league rounds

KARACHI, Feb 27: A O Cricket Club Blues sailed into the super league rounds of the NBP-KCCA Inter Club Championship when they defeated Punjab Cricket Club by six wickets here at the Punjab Ground on Monday.

Shoaib Khan hammered a superb 80 with 13 boundaries but his knock failed to save Punjab CC from defeat.

Punjab CC, batting first, could manage 207-9 off the allotted 40 overs. Left-arm spinner Iftikhar Ahmed claimed three wickets for 44.

A O CC Blues, in response, overhauled the required total for the loss of four wickets in the 28th over. Javed Gohar cracked a match-winning 67 with six hits to the ropes and Ijaz Ahmed got 49 with five boundaries.
