KARACHI, Feb 26: Sialkot Stallions scored an unimpressive six-wicket win against Peshawar Panthers in the ABN-Amro Gold League One-day Cup tie at the National Stadium here on Monday.

The Stallions, chasing 207, lost six wickets in achieving victory in the 47th over. Opener Qaiser Abbas top-scored for them with a 107-ball 69, that included seven boundaries.

Earlier, the Panthers overcame a disastrous start after being asked to at first. Left-arm pacer Sarfraz Ahmed took two wickets in his opening spell to have the Panthers reeling at 72 for five at the halfway stage of the innings.

But Mohammad Fayyaz and Zulfiqar Jan restored parity by adding 71 for the sixth wicket before Fayyaz departed for 48. His 58-ball knock was laced with three fours and one six.

Zulfiqar, the tall wicket-keeper/batsman, then dominated the proceedings as he blasted six fours and three sixes on his way to a 78-ball 76 until he was run out on the final delivery of the innings. Zulfiqar’s stand with Zohaib Khan (9 not out) yielded 63 runs.

Sarfraz finished with three for 32 while fellow paceman Tahir Mughal captured two for 40.
