KARACHI, Feb 21: Two young labourers were asphyxiated by poisonous fumes in a crude oil carriage on Wednesday at an oil terminal near Gulshan-i-Hadeed. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre. The victims were identified as Nazar Mohammed, 18, and Haider Munawwar, 19.

Eye-witnesses said the two labourers were cleaning the oil carriage tank at Zulfiqarabad Oil Terminal. The people peeped into the tank as the two labourers did not come out for a long time, and found one of them had already died. The other died on way to the hospital.

Three people were killed in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

Police said a 28-year-old man was shot dead and his 25-year-old friend injured when two men opened fire at them in Model Colony.

They said Danish and Salman were playing at a Dabbu (carom) centre near Abbasi Market when two men on a motorcycle opened fire on them.

Danish died instantly and Salman sustained bullet wounds. The Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre officials said the injured man was in a stable condition.

The 55-year-old owner of a farm house was shot dead in Memon Goth. Police said Mohammed Salman, of Khokrapar, was going in his car when armed men opened fire at him. He died instantly. The police suspect enmity to be the motive behind the murder.

The body of a 35-year-old man was found near his house in Qasba Colony.
