LAHORE, Feb 20: A six event card with moderate fields will be decided during the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races to be held at the Racecourse on Wednesday.

In all, 65 runners will contest in the events to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1000m. The first race will be held at 1.00pm.

Four-year-old bay colt, Re Born, who was unlucky to be beaten twice on his previous outings should make amends and win the third race, the Jhelum Plate class VII division I, which has the largest field of 15 runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.

Lucky Coin Leader's King and Al Murad may fight for a place on the board.

The feature event, the Chunian Plate class V division I, has seven runners barring last-minute withdrawals. Of them Daisy Against All, Richy Dancer and Intikhab come into reckoning. However, dark-bay horse Intikhab and the bay filly Richy Dancer, should fight it out for the spoils.

The bay filly, Aaja Bulbul, in the her presnt form should win the fifth race, Chunian Plate class V division 11. The rest seven should fight for places.

Cross Ruff, Chakori Jaisa and Faryal are the pick of the fourth race, the Chunian Plate class V division 111. The distance of the race gives an edge to the first named, who is a better speedster than his rivals.

The second race has 14 runners. Of them only four are on chance namely: Tallal The Great, High Hope Dashing Paradise and Stride To Moment. They should fight it out.

Janu and Black King are the two good sprinters, who attract attention in the opener. They comprise runners, who have won one or more races and have come down in the handicap gradually in the class from where they went up. A couple of them are, who have not yet won even for once. So its an interesting race. Three-year-old filly, Janu was slow at the start last time out and could hardly appear on the board. She may make amends this time. With a good rider up, the gelding Black King and filly Tosca are likely to fight for a place on the board.
