Two arrested for kidnap, murder

LAHORE, Feb 20: Kot Lakhpat division CIA staff claimed to have arrested two criminals, including a woman, involved in a kidnap for ransom and murder case along with illegal weapons.

Accused Akbar Ali and his accomplice Tahira Iram allegedly kidnapped taxi driver Akbar of Batapur and demanded Rs2.5 million. They murdered him when he put up resistance threw the body in Sheikhupura Saddar area.

According to CIA, Akbar left his house as routine but did not turn up. His brother Malik Nazir informed police after three days which registered a case on his complaint.

Meanwhile, Nazir received a call and the unidentified caller demanded Rs2.5 million ransom for the release of his brother.

The CIA claimed that the criminals have confessed to killing the taxi driver.

They have recovered a car, two pistols and bullets from their possession.

PO ARRESTED: Iqbal Town CIA claimed to have arrested alleged extortionist, hired assassin and proclaimed offender Mian Tariq alias Tari after a crossfire.

They said Mian Tariq had become a symbol of terror in the Walled City.

They got information that Tariq was present near session’s court and a special team was constituted which arrested him after a brief encounter.

Around 15 cases of police encounter and murder had been registered against him by various police station of the city.— APP
