PESHAWAR, Feb 20: In order to strengthen educational ties and quality of research, the Manchester University, UK, has agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Peshawar.
The agreement was reached in a meeting between Manchester University senior international officer Elizabeth Green and University of Peshawar Vice-Chancellor Dr Haroon Rashid here on Tuesday.
Highlighting curricular and co-curricular activities of the university, Dr Rashid said special attention was being given to the research work, adding that all possible facilities had been provided to the researchers in this respect.
The vice-chancellor said that a directorate of sports had been set up to promote extracurricular activities.
Elizabeth Green appreciated the role of Peshawar University and expressed the hope that long-term bilateral ties in the education sector would be established between the UK and Pakistan.
Manchester University Professor Richard Pedric will also meet Dr Haroon Rasheed on March 2 to discus the MoU.—APP
