KARACHI, Feb 20: Many citizens have complained about receiving inflated bills of January from the Sui Southern Gas Company.

The gas consumers in Orangi Town told this scribe that they had been regularly paying their monthly bills, but the gas utility had mentioned previous balances at least Rs400, which they said was unjust and illegal.

They asked the concerned officials to send them the correct bills and stop torturing the consumers who were regular payers of bills.

The SSGC spokesman, when contacted, said the bills in December had been prepared on average basis, which were adjusted in the January bills.

He said the SSGC staff was trying their level best to solve problems of the consumers and asked the complainants to contact SSGC’s staff in their respective areas for redressal of their grievances.
