KARACHI, Feb 20: A Division Bench of Sindh High Court comprising Justices Rehmat Hussain Jafferi and Munib Ahmed Khan adjourned the hearing of former capital city police officer Tariq Jamil’s petition to March 2.

The former CCPO has alleged that he was being harassed by the National Accountability Bureau officials in pursuance of an anonymous complaint. He said he had not acquired any property disproportionate to his known sources of income. The bureau has denied the allegation.

In another case Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, of the high court granted pre-arrest bail till February 26 to Farrukh Mahmoud Janjua, allegedly involved in a bogus visa case. According to a complaint registered by the FIA Passport Cell, the accused charged a man Rs500,000 to arrange a visa for a European country. The travel documents given by him were found to be fake.

The bench also adjourned to a date in office, the appeals in the Wall Street Journal correspondent Daniel Pearle’s murder case. —Staff Reporter
