KARACHI, Feb 18: Unidentified persons hurled some explosive on an office of a local estate agency in Gadap causing no casualties, said a police official.

“It was not a bomb but some explosive, which unknown persons lobbed at Indus City Estate’s office in Murad Memon Goth,” TPO Gadap Town told Dawn. He said a bang alerted the local population and the police picketed nearby but caused no damage.

“It created a small crater outside the estate agency’s office,” the TPO said.

BODY FOUND: The Aziz Bhatti police found a bullet riddled body of a 25-years-old man near Sindhi Para. The man was identified as Mohammad Ishaq who had been kidnapped a day ago. His body was riddled with twelve bullets. The police said the deceased was wanted in two criminal cases.

ARRESTS: Korangi police arrested seven criminals and recovered arms and looted valuables from their possession. A police party raided different areas in Bilal Colony, Chamra Chowrangi and Zaman Town, Sector 35/A in Korangi They arrested ringleader of a gang Saeed Alam alias Munna and recovered a gun, one repeater, one TT pistol, one magazine and 11 cartridges from his possession. He was wanted in cases of heinous crimes including robberies.

The police also arrested two alleged robbers, Adil and Rehman, and recovered cloth worth millions of rupees, looted from trucks coming from different factories.

Four accused of street crimes, Zakir, Shahbaz, Tanvir and Shafiq, were arrested and 23 mobile phones, four TT pistols, four magazines and nine cartridges recovered from their possession, said the police.
