Editor of The Post dies

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10: Editor of The Post Adnan Shahid, 37, died of a heart attack in London.

He left behind a widow -- Humaira Awais Shahid, who is a member of the Punjab Assambly -- a son and two daughters.

According to reports received here, Adnan Shahid had gone to the United States for medical check up of his father Mr Zia Shahid, chief executive of the Khabrain group of newspapers.

On their way back to Pakistan, they decided to stay in the United Kingdom for a day. Adnan Shahid, along with his father and mother, was scheduled to return on Saturday. He had gone to the airline’s office for seat confirmation on Friday where he suffered the heart attack. He was taken to a hospital in consciousness condition but could not survive.

President Gen Pervez Musharraf, Chairman Senate Mohammadmian Soomro, Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Mohammad Jamali and and other political leaders condoled Mr Shahid’s death.
