Old couple burnt alive

PESHAWAR, Feb 20: An old gypsy couple were burnt alive on Wednesday while sleeping in their tent under a bridge on Ring Road.

The couple had been living under the bridge on Ring road since long. On Wednesday morning they lit straws for heating their tent, and fell asleep, but the tent caught fire burning the couple alive.

Chamkani police station, while registering an FIR, claimed that the two persons were heroin addict.

GAMBLERS HELD: Sixteen gamblers were arrested and Rs37,000 stake money recovered in Lala Kaly near here on Wednesday.

On a tip-off, the Chamkani police raided the house of Arbab Iqbal Khan and arrested 16 gamblers red-handed. The police recovered Rs37,000 stake money.—Bureau Report
