Suspect escapes from lockup

ATTOCK, Feb 20: A suspect involved in dacoity, attempted murder and other cases escaped from the lockup of the Saddar police station on Wednesday.

Asad Saeed of Mirza village was arrested by the Sadder police a few days ago, and investigation was under way.

He escaped from the lockup reportedly when some other accused were being shifted to the District Jail.

The Attock SSP has suspended from service the muharrar and a constable of the police station for negligence.

DACOITY: Four dacoits looted cash, gold ornaments, electronic goods and valuables in Saydan village in the jurisdiction of Hazro police on Wednesday.

Four armed men forced their entry into the house of Ejaz and fled after collecting cash, jewellery, a TV set and valuables.

Meanwhile, the Attock SSP has removed Hazro SHO inspector Shaukat Shan and Ghur Gushti in charge sub-inspector Kudadad Lila from their posts. They have been directed to report to the district police lines.

HASHISH SEIZED: Kurd police seized seven kilogramme hashish from two vans during checking at the Kurd check post and arrested six drug traffickers.

Those arrested are Javed Ali, Yasser Khan, Shahzad Khan, Qazi Yaseer, Abid Khan and Fiaz.
