Court orders protection to couple

KHAIRPUR, Feb 7: The Babarloi police produced a woman, Kazbano, and a man, Rajab Jagirani, in the court of the district and sessions judge on Wednesday.

The couple, belonging to Qabul Jagirani Village, Rohri taluka, had reached at the police station and sought protection.

Ms Kazbano stated in the court that her father had died, her mother had married again and she wanted to marry of her own free will with Rajab Jagirani.

She added that she and Rajab were receiving death threats from their relatives and requested the court to provide them protection. After recording her statement, the court directed the Babarloi police to ensure protection to the couple.

ROBBERY: A taxi driver was deprived of his vehicle near Therhi Sim Nala on Tuesday evening.

A man and a woman reached taxi stand at Naseem Kharal Road in Khairpur and hired a taxi (ADW-008) for Therhi. When they reached near Therhi Sim Nullah, they compelled the driver on gun point to drive towards Palh road. After covering some distance, four armed men emerged near Palh village and snatched the taxi. They let off the driver late on Tuesday evening.

ACCIDENT: One person died and four others were injured when a trailer hit their motorcycle on the National Highway in the jurisdiction of Tando Masti Khan police station on Wednesday.

Five people were going to Faiz Wah village from Khairpur on a motorcycle when a trailer hit them.
