QUETTA, Jan 26: Justice Mehta Kalash Nath Kohli, vacation judge of the Balochistan High Court, has accepted the bail petition filed by Sajid Tareen, vice-president of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal group). The judge on Friday ordered the petitioner’s release following the posting of a Rs200,000 surety bond in the office of the court’s registrar.

Sajid Tareen had been detained on Dec 12 under MPO 3 but the high court, terming his detention unlawful, had ordered his release on Dec 28.

The police had re-arrested him on Dec 29 in another case for publishing a booklet. The Anti-Terrorist Court in Quetta on Jan 11 had granted him bail but the police had again arrested him on Jan 12 as he came out from the Quetta district prison.—Correspondent
