Man found in illegal police detention

SUKKUR, Jan 20: The civil judge and first class magistrate raided Daharki police station on Saturday and recovered a man, Mohammad Essa, kept in illegal detention there. The judge, Ghulam Murtaza Leghari, directed the SHO to appear before the court on Monday.

The raid was conducted on the directive of the district and session judge, Ghotki, Syed Irshad Ahmed, in whose court a man, Mohammad Moosa had filed an application. He had stated that the Daharki police had picked up his brother Mohammad Essa and had been keeping him in illegal detention.

CANAL BREACH: Three villages and crops on hundreds of acres came under water when a 40-foot wide breach occurred in Furti Shakh near Hakim Ali Bajkani village near Thul on Saturday.

The villagers were trying to plug the breach on their own till the filing of this report as irrigation staff had failed to reach there so far.

KIDNAPED: A farmer was kidnapped by a group of armed men from Jeeyand Jatoi in the Ghelpur area near Kandhkot on Saturday.

Irshad Jatoi was working at his land when armed men appeared on the scene, kidnapped him and fled to the kutcha area.

The area police with the villagers have started chasing the kidnappers. However, no recovery or arrest was reported till the filing of this report.
