City School outfits to clash in final

KARACHI, Jan 16: The Inter-school basketball championship final will be an all-City School affair as their two outfits PAF Chapter and Darakshan Campus won pre-finals in contrasting styles on Tuesday.

Muzammil Uddin steered PAF Chapter to 54-23 victory over CAS School after enjoying 27-8 lead at half time.

He was brilliant in scoring and cashed in the opportunities that came his way to end up with individual score of 16. Ahmed Saqib, Talal Khan and Arsalan Shah scored eight apiece. Mansoor who excelled in the defence scored seven.

Dominic Flothow (12) and Sameer Malik (7) were the main contributors for losers in addition to a three pointer by Jahangir Rasheed.

In a neck-and-neck battle, Darakshan Campus got the better of Karachi Grammar School by barest of the margin (26-25). They led 13-12 at the breather.

Raja Jehanzeb (9), Maaz Sultan (7) and Sameel Haider (5) contributed in the team’s triumph. Hasan Anwar scored one three pointer for winners. Abdus Sami (10), Shahryar and Obaid six each, scored for Grammarians.

The final between PAF Chapter and Darakshan Campus will be played Wednesday at 2pm. This will be preceded by third position playoff between Karachi Grammar School and CAS at 12.30pm.
