LAHORE, Jan 15: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf on Monday hailed the prompt action taken by the ICC against South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs. "Sledging and passing racial remarks is totally an unsportsman like act which must be condemned at all level," the PCB chairman said in reference to ban imposed on Gibbs by the match referee for racial abuse.

"Pakistan consider the South Africans as one of the great ambassadors of the game who always hold human dignity and respect in highest priority,” he said.

“I hope the act of one individual will not affect the morale of the team and the they will continue fighting as one unit for the rest of the matches," the chairman added.

Dr Nasim also congratulated the South African team on winning the first Test at Centurion.
