KARACHI: Arrest of killers demanded

Published January 16, 2007

KARACHI, Jan 15: At a meeting held here on Monday to remember Shia scholar Agha Syed Ziauddin Rizvi on his second anniversary, Shia religious and political leaders demanded immediate arrest of his killers and an immediate end to, what they called, ‘anti-Shia policies’.

The meeting was organised by the Shia Youth Movement at Mehfil Shah-i-Khorasan. Senator Allama Abbas Komeli, Allama Ghulam Ali Wazeeri, Syed Aftab Haider Jaffery, Allama Furqan Haider Abidi, Hussain Shah and Maulana Jaffer Subhani were among those who spoke on the occasion.

They deplored that while killers of Agha Rizvi were still at large despite a lapse of more than two years, a large number of innocent Shia youths was being picked up and booked by the law-enforcement agencies.
