KARACHI, Jan 12: Four ships to load/offload containers, rice and chemicals were accommodated berths at QICT, MPT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, five more ships carrying containers, edible oil, furnace oil and LPG also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy rose to 80 per cent as 10 ships, CSAV Ningbo, Ibn Sina, Ibn Bassam, Annie Sierra, Sibi, Gemini, Yanaseni, Liquid Success, Crandiosa and Al-Maqwa, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, chemicals, seeds and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 55,911 tons comprising 53,467 tons of import and 2,444 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as AL-Maqwa and Ibn Sina left the port.
