Punjab and Sindh win

LAHORE, Dec 23: Punjab and Sindh chalked out victories on the second day of the 15th national baseball championship at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Saturday.

Punjab recorded a close 6-5 win against NWFP in the first match which was decided in sixth innings. At the end of the fifth innings, Punjab were losing 5-3, but in the sixth innings Aamir, Zubair and Nazir scored one run each as NWFP failed to add any run in the innings.

For Punjab, Shahzad Qaiser, Babar and Haider Ali also chipped in with a score each.

For NWFP, Shahid, Salman, Imranullah, Yasir and Mustajib added one run each. Three runs each by Azeemuddin, and Mohammad Khalid and two runs each by Qaiser Ali and Zulqarnain enabled Sindh beat Islamabad 14-2.
