18 hurt in coach accident

RAHIM YAR KHAN, Dec 20: As many as 18 passengers sustained injuries in a road accident on Wednesday near Taranda Saway Khan, 11km from here. Reports said a coach (Peshawar K-7431) was going from Bahawalpur to Rahim Yar Khan. Near Khokhran Taranda Saway Khan locality, steering of the vehicle became dysfunctional. Coach driver Saeed Ahmed of Khangah Sharif informed the passengers about the situation and jumped out of the vehicle. The coach struck against a tree.

The injured identified as Nighat Yasmeen, Shahida Naheed, Abdus Salam, Riffat Majeed, Gul Muhammad, Abdul Hameed, Abdul Majeed, Fayyaz Ahmed, Shabbir Hussain, Fayaz Hussain, Awais Umer, Saddam, Muhammad Khalid, Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Ibrahim, Munir Ahmed, Tariq and Anees Akhtar were admitted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital. The driver managed his escape.

Police are investigating.
