KARACHI, Dec 7: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) put up fine performance to reduce Habib Bank to 178 for eight in their first innings on the third day of their four-day Patron’s Trophy quadrangular fixture at the NBP Sports Complex on Thursday.
Paceman Abdur Rauf took important wickets of Taufiq Umar, Hasan Raza and Shahid Afridi for 68 runs and Jaffar Nazir claimed two for 33 as the star-studded Habib Bank batsmen struggled on a seamer-friendly track after recent rains.
Asim Kamal finished the day with an unbeaten 43 with five boundaries in a stay of 165 minutes. Fahad Masood was batting on 10.
Opener Taufiq Umar made 33 with six boundaries and Humayun Farhat got 25 with three hits to the boundary.
Skipper Shahid Afridi (3), Hasan Raza (3) and Azhar Mahmood (5) all went cheaply on a pitch assisting pace bowlers.
The match started after lunch on day three after the first two days were washed out due to poor condition of the pitch and square.
