ISLAMABAD, Feb 16: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended on February 14, has registered an increase of 0.46 per cent over the corresponding week.
The SPI registered a growth of 4.19 per cent when compared to the corresponding week ended on February 15 last year. Whereas SPI of the same week for combined income group recorded an increase of 0.48 per cent over previous week with a rise of 4 per cent over last year.
During the week under review, the average prices of 5 items decreased, prices of 19 items registered increase, while average prices of 27 items remained unchanged.
The items, prices of which decrease during the week included: garlic, chicken farm, moong pulse, red chillies (powdered) and gram pulse.
In comparison to the last week, the prices of these items increased - voil, eggs, mustard oil, moong pulse, elect. bulb (60 Watt), cooking oil (Habib), veg. ghee (loose), tomatoes, onions, cigarettes (K-2), bananas, potatoes, rice-basmati (broken), gur, sugar, tea (prepared), coarse latha, shirting, mash pulse, lawn, masoor pulse.
