One killed, 9 hurt in LoC firing

MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 15: One person was killed and nine others were injured in Indian shelling from across the Line of Control, officials said on Friday.

Deputy commissioner of Poonch Liaquat Hussain told Dawn that the Indian troops targeted villages in Abbaspur and Hajira sectors from 11am to 5pm.

Mohammad Younus, 35, died on the spot in Chaffar village in Abbaspur sector after being hit by a shell, the DC said.

Those injured in the Indian firing have been identified as Taufiq Ahmed, Tauseef Ahmed, Asadullah, Sahib Jan, Faiza, Abdul Aziz, Mohammad Shahid, Husan Bibi and Fareeda Kausars
