KARACHI: City gets new police chief

KARACHI, Nov 20: Additional IG Tariq Jamil has been posted as Capital City Police chief, a notification to this effect was issued by the Establishment Division on Monday.

He was acting as city police chief in place of Mr Niaz Ahmed Siddiqui, who was on a leave. Mr Siddiqui has been transferred and posted as additional IG, replacing Tariq Jamil.

Mr Jamil has remained the city police chief from June 2004 to Nov 2005 when he was suddenly removed from the post. He has also worked as DIG Operations from 2002 and DIG Karachi before the enforcement of the Police Order 2002.
